Being a Trekkie, Jeffrey Combs has been a delight for me to watch over the years with his many alien guises-- most notably the Ferengi "Bruk" (of the F.C.A.), "Weyoun" the weaselly servant to the Changlings, and "Shran" the cool Andorian captain on Star Trek: Enterprise.

I'm planning on going to this. Sounds very cool, and they'll be running a print of MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH after the show, free for attendees of
the stage event!

 Re: 10/31/14
I went to the show on Friday night, and was 50/50 for the evening.

Didn't really like NEVERMORE. As a big Poe fan, I wasn't comfortable with seeing him turned into a Foster Brooks-like
drunken fool onstage. I don't know how much of my impression was made by what was happening onstage or by the audience
hooting, hollering, and "WOOOOOooooo!"-ing every time he took a drink. I also wasn't sure if laughter was the intended response
to his dramatic reading of THE TELL-TALE HEART. I'm sure the play was crafted with some light moments in it, but I couldn't tell what
was and wasn't supposed to be funny, as the audience seemed to find a literary great drinking himself to death hilarious. Or may be it
was supposed to be a funny play and that's not what I was hoping for/expecting. I've had too many retro film screening ruined by
idiot Boston audiences, and I assumed that what I was experiencing Friday night was another instance of that, right down to one or more
people in the audience yelling stuff out during the show.

Maybe it was just me?

The screening of MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH was great, though. Nice print, and a pretty quiet/respectful audience. The only distraction
was the loud talking and laughter in the lobby of the theatrical hangers-on after they were cleared from the theater so the film could start. That
aside, the film looked GREAT, and it was a treat to see Vincent Price play such a cold mofo on the Somerville's giant screen.

I was initially surprised at the stage fall, but then remembered that I'd noticed the stairs on either side of the stage when I first arrived, and
figured they were there for a reason...

I forgot I purchased tickets for this event back in June. I was posting in the Halloween topic last week about my plans and should have checked here instead.
