I got it at an auction back in the late 1980's. They had auctioned off alot of movie memorabilia ffrom different hammer films and other films also. I believe in March a company called Heritage Auctions will be auctioning off Christopher Lee's cloak from Horror of Dracula (1958). That should go for a pretty penny. The site is http://www.ha.com/magazine/images/Aucti ... nter08.pdf

Yeah countdrac, can you give us any more information about your cape? I thought it looked cool, but now that you mention that you got it at a Hammer auction my curiosity is definitely piqued. Did the cape come with any history about who might have worn it, and what film(s) it might be seen in? That would be too cool!

Dracula Has Risen from the Grave. I have a certificate with it. At the time I believe they auctioned off a pair of the shoes, and some other stuff mainly from films with Ralph Bates. I also believe that the Whitbey Museum in England has one of his cloaks on display plus the one they are getting ready to auction off. If you see the link that is posted VS the actual cape in the Horror of Dracula film and carefully studying it from the film and photos, the rope cords at the neck look way too long. My only guess is that the rope cords were replaced at some point. There were alot of capes made through the various films and I am sure they are in the hand of other collectors. Recently I was in Disney World. I stopped into Planet Hollywood to buy a shirt after eating lunch there (food was fantastic........as always!). I walked into the store and BAMMMMM, there it was the holy grail of modern horror film memorabilia.......It was the Scream Ghostface costume worn by Skeet Ulrich from the first Scream film......I would love to own that. There was one on ebay last year or the year before and I think the starting bid was like 1,000.00. I should have bid.......

I tried it on once or twice, it is way too big for me. I am only like 5'11" and Christopher Lee is like 6'5" or 6'6". It is very long and looks like a bridal train on me.....It is made of a wool of some kind, not like a suit or pants wool but kind of like a light-medium weight scarf/jacket wool.
