Thanks for sharing those pictures here, skorch. It looks like a very intimate setting...how close to the stage did you sit?
Did it get so loud with laughter at times that you couldn't hear what they were saying? Just curious

Not to step in on Mr. Skorch's response, but the place was sold-out and filled with very enthusiastic MST/CT fans who ate up every minute of it. The four CT performers were arranged on both sides of the stage, two on each side, facing the screen. They were all dressed in black and either standing or sitting with music stands in front of them with their individual scripts, illuminated by a small light attached to the stands. This gave just enough light to be able to see them and their interactions with each other, without being distracting or washing out the movie image. I thought it was great to see the CT gang fully performing their lines, occasionally cracking themselves and each other up. You could see at times that the audience's response to something would occasionally cause a joke or two to be discarded, as the crowd would be laughing over where someone in CT would be setting up the next joke.
My seats were front row of the balcony, one of the perks of being a friend of the theater manager....

I was on the balcony, three rows back to the right side which doesn't sound very close but there really wasn't a bad seat in the place. I bought the ticket a few days before but was getting over the flu still so I wasn't sure I was going to make it out until the day of the show, wish I could have met up with the other CDF crew while there. Somerville Theater is a great spot to catch a show and it's pretty conveniently located as well, hopefully I'll be catching CT and other events there in the future. Finally watched the Oozing Skull DVD (the only CT show I've seen other than last Sat night), and thought it was just OK. I think the issue was it felt a little too scripted (which it is) and while it's not on par with the MST3K stuff I'm optimistic that the jokes /delivery will improve. Anyone have reviews of the later shows out on DVD? Question for astroal and Mark: Did you stay for the autograph session, how long did you have to wait, any stories about meeting the gang? Had I been able to park nearby I would have braved the cold and long line, now I have a blank CT card hanging at my desk at work. skorch i was up in the balcony in the center.
odd that you weren't feeling up to par either. i was just getting what has turned out to be a nasty sore throat. worst one i think i've had in ages. so after the show i couldn't take standing in a long line in the cold so we just went home.
would have been nice if i had been smart enough to suggest we all meet up somewhere but as it turns out it would have been awkward because i could hardly talk that night.
we've got a couple of the dvds. i like them a lot. legacy of blood and oozing skull. i think i like legacy the most of the two. really looking forward to the release of the dynamite brothers.
next time your in davis sq. eat at mike's! its a nice place.

My pals and I didn't stay for the meet & greet after the show, but I was told by both a pal who'd attended Friday night and the theater manager that the CT crew were the nicest folks you'd want to meet. My friend who attended Friday got a photo of himself and Joel, who was super-friendly and happy to pose for a pic or two.
We wound up eating at Redbones, a favorite Davis Square BBQ joint of several of us, about a block or two away from the theater. Can't argue with Mike's either, though.

Thank you once again for your feedback about the show guys! Boy, I wish I could have been there. Looks like the CT folks are about to release their next title. On March 19 "Blood of the Vampire" will be released. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYBUEViO0PoAnd here's what J. Elvis had to say in the group's most recent e-mail about the new release and the current tour: "Hi there, Thought I'd drop you all a line on one of our increasingly few days home from the road. We've had an incredibly good time the last few weeks in San Francisco, Boston, and Cleveland. The shows have been really fun for us and so has meeting so many of you after each of them. Turns out having hundreds of people waiting in line to say nice things to you is good for the spirits - I recommend it for everyone. Only two weeks left in this tour - this Saturday night, 3/7 in Austin, TX at the Paramount and next weekend, 3/13-14 at the King Cat Theatre in Seattle Then, the week following the tour, we be releasing our NEXT DVD! Cinematic Titanic's "Blood of the Vampires" - Available March 19th! Having performed this one on the road several times now, I promise you there's plenty of laughs to be had here and if you've seen us perform it live you may want to get a copy to hear all the jokes we couldn't do because people were laughing too hard at the previous one. So there you have it. We're doing stuff! Best, J. Elvis"

I hope she will be okay with it. I saw that they were putting on more shows, but since none were in the New England area I kind of forgot about it. Glad to hear that they're going to be close enough to you for you to go Daimajinbob. Hope you can make it. ...And obviously will be waiting to hear how it was if you DO go!

Well I talked to my better half, she is not thrilled about me going but right now I am on vacation (starts today and ends Monday the 8th) she is on vacation as well but has no idea what she wants to do and I can not wait and sit around until she decides, so I AM GOING. It's going to blow because Dallas is about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Houston.
