 Farewell iPhone
Well it is sad to say but after almost an entire year, my iPhone 2G can no longer cut the mustard. I have decided to upgrade to an HTC HD2 which is running a Windows OS and has a lot more features than my iPhone.

Pros: Larger viewing screen 4in x 3in @800x480
5Mp camera/video
Supports several different video and audio formats
Longer battery life
Expandable storage capacity via MicroSD HD Card up to 32Gb

Cons: It runs windows
It's not an iPhone
I had to install Windows XP on my Mac (will run Windows 7 when I buy my new Mac in December) :x

Here's a video on the phone

That looks pretty sweet (coming from someone who has yet to join the modern age and who has never owned a cell "phone").

From what I understand, there are better compatibility issues with the phone and Windows 7 compared to XP

I might give Vista a shot. I will only be using Windows for MSN Messenger, Yahoo messenger and the phone

Well I picked it up from the UPS office today and started tinkering around with it. it is a bit more complicated than the iPhone

You can count me as someone who hasn't joined the modern age too!

Besides my computer, I'm pretty low tech (heck, you saw my "new" telephone, right?). I've also never owned a cell phone or any of those other hand-held gizmos. I know the day will come when I do finally get a cell phone, but I have no need of one right now (and once I get one, I'll probably be kicking myself for waiting so long to get one too! ;-) ).

 Re: Farewell iPhone
Hey, if it works...

I'm sure that I'll eventually cave and get one too, but it's just another expense in a time when we're trying to cut back. My wife does have a basic phone that we actually share (whenever one of us is going far away or taking the kids somewhere that one will take it). But we don't use it for day to day stuff--pay as you go. I've never even sent a text message (and don't even know how to do it). It's funny to think that just 15 or so years ago NO ONE had a cell phone and somehow we managed to survive as a species. Imagine trying to convince a teenager of today that he/she could survive in a world without cell phones Speaking of which, how much longer do you suppose they'll even be called "cell phones"? With all the stuff they do nowadays, the phone aspect seems like a relatively minor feature. Okay, I know, I sound like an old fuddy-duddy. I'll get off my soap box and crawl back in my cave again!

The irony of the phone is that it runs Windows 6,5 OS for phones and can play MP4 video, however, Widows XP, Vista etc Media Player can not. The phone only has 1Gb of storage so I will have to buy a 32Gb (max allowed) MiniSD card.

Another cool feature is the weather app, Here is what it looks like when you check the weather.

I know I said I don't have any use for a cell phone now, BUT--had this prototype made it to final production, it may have been just enough for me to take the plunge  :
