Hey everyone, Halloween's less than a month away (not that I need to remind you of that). I know Daimajinbob had his way-cool Jedi costume last year that he posted photos of here. Does anyone have any plans to do anything interesting--costume-wise--for Halloween this year? Actually, a better question might be, how many of you still try to find an excuse (Halloween party, "Doing it for the kids"...) to get dressed up at Halloween? This was obviously a very important holiday for many of us CDF fans back in the day. How many still try to catch a bit of that Halloween magic?
The reason I ask is because I've been planning a costume since last year, but am not sure if I'll be able to pull it off this year or not. A lot depends on whether some friends host a party where I'll be able to wear it. It's not the sort of thing I'd wear for handing out candy for the local kids (plus it might be hard to explain to my daughter). If I DO manage to pull it off I'll try to post a photo here and explain what it is.

Unfortunately, the Halloween party I was supposed to go to last Saturday was cancelled. Have to wait until next year to wear my costume. Also, I didn't realize that "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" was on last night until it was too late! Good Grief! I HAVE to pick that one up on DVD. Here's a quick clip for anyone else who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYFfOJPM ... re=relatedLooking forward to taking my daughter trick-or-treating around the neighborhood on Friday, though she's still undecided whether she'll be a witch, a dragon, a bee, a skeleton or Tom Brady! Hopefully I'll also be able to get to a movie or two from National Amusements' "Quadruple Bypass Halloween Marathon" after the festivities die down.

The 5-year-old daughter of some friends of my decided that her Halloween costume this year would be a stick of butter. She orginally wanted to be a plate, but decided it was too flat.
She wore the lovingly-constructed butter costume to Pumpkin Fest here in Keene last weekend, and got lots of appreciative looks and laughs. As her father said to me, "I've heard the word 'butter' more times today than I have up to now in my life."

Wanting to be a plate or a stick of butter for Halloween is certainly unique if not downright odd I remember a kid down the street from me in 1982 dressed as a box of Tylenol. I don't know if anyone remembers this, but there was a massive recall for Tylenol back then, because someone put cyanide or something in a bottle and put it back on the shelf. I'm pretty sure a few people died from it. I think that's why the tamper-proof lids were invented.

Nice. Guess he had a "yabba-dabba-Doo time, a dabba-doo time, a gay-old time"! Did he end up waking up and pounding on the door, yelling "Willlll-maaaaa!!"?
