Can't say I remember this, but I love looking at vintage toys. Made by REMCO, it's probably from the 60's?
You have intrigued me, sir, and I wish to learn more. Judging from the "Monkey Division" they may have had a whole ensemble to go with the helmet. We used to play Army quite alot when I was a wee lad...I probably would have loved to wear this! Off to Google...

WOW! I did a quick Google image search, and there was a TON of Monkey Division toys! I was right, there were all kinds of guns and equipment.

I think I saw 1963 somewhere as the date for these toys...a little before my time. Man, if these were around say nine or ten years later, I would have loved to have them. Who knows, maybe some neighborhood kids did have these toys, and I may have indeed played with them...just didn't realize they were called "Monkey Division".

wow beastball thanks for your google hunt!

i had no idea there was a whole line of them.

i never even saw the helmet. it was long gone by the time i was born but the box was around until we lost a bunch of stuff when we sold our folks house in 06.

i think my brother just had the helmet. at least that's all he recalls having.

Wow, this stuff is (was) cool! I also never heard of this line. Kind of surprising with a name like Monkey division! I also played army, and would have LOVED to have had some of these toys to play with (especially the mortar and the bazooka--those aren't your run-of-the-mill army guy toys!).

The thread title made me think it was a discussion of simian-based mathematics involving bananas.

I keep forgetting what it is about! At first I had a similar thought to yours Mark. I finally checked it out and then...when I just saw that there was a new post in the thread, I thought it was something else again! Even though I'd read it before!

Yeah kids in the 60's had the cooler toys/cartoons. In the 70's everything was made kid friendly/safe. Just compare shows like Jonny Quest to 70's cartoons or The "Adventure Team" GI Joe I received for Christmas in 75 (still cool) compared to the Joes in the 60's.

Forgot to mention here that the good Col. and I spotted a Monkey Division toy at an antique shop in Kittanning, PA when we were there for this year's Drive-In Super Monster-rama! Pretty cool
to see one of these in person.

Eek! Not really. I promise if it's still there next year I'll take a picture of it.
