Movie help – picture showed a grave
I’m psyched I found this site! My older sister and I used to watch CDF every Saturday. She loved to scare me!

Anyways, there are two movies that stand out. The first I discovered is the Daimajin trilogy. YAY!
The second I need help with.

It was black and white and set in an old farm house. A robber or someone killed the house owner and buried him in the back yard, which may have been a cemetery. Next to the stairway in the house was a picture of the house and yard. Every time the killer walked by this painting, it changed. At first it showed the house with the grave faintly in the background. Next time, it would be a close up of the grave. Then the grave was open! Then it showed a figure walking towards the house. Ultimately, it showed the front door and the figure knocking on it. That’s when my sister would scare me.

Would love to see that movie again but I can’t find it! HELP!

Welcome to the board Beligirl! Glad you found us too!

While it's not a farm house, I believe that what you are describing is the "The Cemetery" segment of the pilot episode of Rod Serling's "Night Gallery". Roddy McDowall played the nasty nephew of the owner of the mansion who dies and then comes back (via an painting) to get Roddy. It's definitely one of the most memorable episodes of "Night Gallery", and the show was featured on Boston TV for quite a while back in the CDF days. I know WCVB Channel 5 showed it and, and wouldn't be surprised if other channels ran it as well.

Night Gallery:

Here it is on YouTube:

Here's the painting:

Here's the Uncle coming for Roddy:

And, here's Roddy--coming for Ossie Davis!:

Does this look like what you remember?

WOW, this sounds so familiar to something I saw on TV probably in the early seventies. I always thought it was an episode of the Night Gallery or something.
Here's what I remember:
-It was in color
-Possibly an hour show but could have been 1/2 hour.
-A stormy night at a house and someone needing help from a car accident (?) at the door.
-That person being killed by the home owner and being buried in a small barn or shed in the back yard.
-The TV in the house showing that shed on the screen even when the killer tries to turn it off and even unplugs it.
-TV shows the shed and a steady banging on the door from the dead man buried in it (much to the killer's horror).
-Shed door finally opens and we cut to the killer sobbing on the floor next to the TV when the door opens and the dead man enters.
-Cut to next day, bright and sunny and the local sheriff arrives looking for the person from the car accident. Finds the home owner buried in the shed.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Because if I didn't dream it, I sure would like to see it again. :-)

That does not sound familiar to me...but if you DO figure out what it was let us know--I'd like to see that too! Sounds creepy.

Beastball - that sounds like an episode of WILLIAM CASTLE'S GHOST STORY (aka CIRCLE OF FEAR) titled "The Dead We Leave Behind", from 1972.

That maybe it although I remember it being black and white. But maybe that was me watching it through my fingers covering my eyes.
Thanks so much!

Yeah, the memory can be a tricky thing! I pretty much remember ALL Creature Double Feature movies as being black & white (whether they were or not), because I watched them on a B&W set for most of the run.

Mark--you are the Master! Thank you for shedding light on another dim memory from my early childhood. It's funny, when I went to the IMDB to look up "Circle of Fear--The Dead We Leave Behind" and read the plot summary, it only vaguely sounded like what I was searching for (though the year 1972 seemed about right).
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0587879/plotsummary

I had no recollection that he was a park ranger or that he murdered his wife as well. Stella Stevens was a pleasant surprise to see in the cast (how could I have not remembered her? If I had seen this in my teens, I'm sure I would have ;-))

Anyways, I had to find out if this was indeed what I sought, so I looked for a downloadable copy and I fortunately found one.
Rather tame by today's standards, but I can definitely see why my heart was in my throat when I saw this as a 7 year old! The few things I did remember were fairly accurate, considering I only saw this once nearly 40 years ago (yow).

If anyone would like to see this, here is the download page:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/1219903341/Ghost.Story._Circle.of.Fear_.s01e01.The.Dead.We.Leave.Behind.1972.VHS.XVID.avi

Just go down the page until you see "slow download" on the right (that's the free one). Click that and a timer will count down 30 seconds. Wait for the countdown to end and one of those boxes where you have to type in the letters you see comes up. Type the letters, hit submit, and you'll see a "Start Download!" link. Click that and the file will come up for you to save to your computer. Just make sure you have a spare 650 MB in your hard drive!
