As you may have noticed by now I changed the format of the board. I was finding it a little difficult to read posts and links and think this looks a lot better and easer to read. I hope no one objects, I just think it looks cool.

Fine by me Daimajinbob. I was a bit surprised to see the new look yesterday. The only thing to really "complain" about is that the cool banner at the top isn't going across the whole screen anymore.
When you get used to something, change can be difficult. The first thought is "why fix it if it ain't broke?". But after a short time you get used to the new look and format, and before you know it, you forget all about the old one! At least that's been my experience on other boards and sites that I've seen change.

Looks good to me. The bigger the color contrast, the easier to see. With the old setup, white text with a black background was fine. But yeah, the dark blue links were hard to see until you hovered over them and they became yellow.

Update: 8/26/08. I don't like the newest changes but I'll get over it.

Wow!
This is a mess. I didn't like the previous design at first but got used to it and just when I was starting to like it, it changes to this? freeforums.org needs to get their act together.

Yeah, whoever thought this design was an improvement...well, apparently sees things differently than I do.
I've seen this happen again and again online, when websites "make things better" and ultimately make things much, much worse.
Hopefully FreeForums will see the light and successfully make the boards a bit more readable and non-jumbly.

Don't worry Daimajinbob. Regardless of how many times freeforums changes the format on you, we'll still be here discussing CDF! Hopefully we'll eventually be able to settle on a nice, stable format that we can all get used to, but the most important thing about the board is the sense of community and the ability to connect with others that share a common interest. As long as they don't change THAT I'll be happy!
