How's the movie compared to the show? I have it in my Netflix queue.

It's a big budget ummm bigger budget version of the show. They finally rereleased it on DVD but I still have the original release.

I saw it when it first came out on video, but don't really remember much about it. Good to see that it's finally been released on DVD. Maybe I can finally see it again. I remember looking for it on eBay a couple of years ago and seeing people charging hundereds of bucks for it because it was out-of-print.

It may be slicker, but stays true to the TV show. Some very good riffing

i saw it at a packed midnight showing at the kendall theater. the crowd went nuts. all sorts of people were there. it was a really good time. i like it a lot. it's actually shorter than a standard episode so it has a nice tight feel too it. i got the original dvd when it came out. are there any neat extras on the new one?

I finally watched the DVD last night after receiving it from Netflix almost a month ago I was watching on a portable DVD player in bed and chuckling the whole way through, my girlfriend was getting pretty annoyed though. I like how they kept with the spirit of the show instead of trying to blow it out of proportion just because it was a movie.

Agreed. I also watched it recently after putting it in my queue because of this thread. I suppose someone who'e not a fan of the show might say, "Geez, couldn't they have done something 'bigger'?", but I agree that they did the right thing trying to keep with the feeling that made the TV show so great.
And astroal, I can't remember if the disc had any extras on it. I'm assuming that that means it didn't (though I certainly could be mistaken about that). Do you recall any extras skorch?
