Godzilla videogames! Why couldn't these have come out in 1977?

I've got the first two X-Box Godzilla games, "Destroy All Monsters" and "Save the Earth." Usually I'll play "Save the Earth" because of the large number of playable monsters -- even lesser-known ones like Jet Jaguar, Baragon and Megaguirus. But the city-smashing mode is better on "Destroy All Monsters."

Has anybody else here tried these?

I haven't tried those, but I do have a Godzilla video game. I have the first one for the original Nintendo where Godzilla and Mothra have to take turns traversing a grid and battle various monsters and planetary obstacles. At the end, the big boss monster is King Ghidorah. Very repetitious but fairly fun...I thought the monsters looked pretty good, but Godzilla's famous roar was sorely missing.
