I remember watching Fox when it first started broadcasting but I have no recollection of this series at all. It might be fun to pick this one up and see what I missed.

I pulled out the Jan 23, 1988 TV Guide Boston Edition and sure enough there it is.
Sunday 1/24/88 8:00 Werewolf 8:30 Married 9:00 Tracy Ullman 9:30 Duet
Interestingly on Saturday Ch 56 was showing back to back Tarzan movies at 1 and 2:30pm, but no longer aired a 4:00 movie. There was plenty of prime time and late night CDF movies though. Ch 27 was showing "The Castle of Terror"and "The House That Dripped Blood". Ch 68 had "House of Horror" on at 10pm followed by "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" at 11pm. Was Elvira's Movie Macabre still on Ch 68 at that point? After that Ch 68 aired "The Mummy" at 12:30am.
The PBS station in NH (ch 11) was showing late night horror with the original "Frankenstein" at 11pm.
Last week on RTN they had a hosted horror show at 10pm. I think it was Midnight Monster Hop or Castle Blood???

Yeah, I remember Werewolf on FOX. I think I only saw an episode or two. When FOX started out, I seem to remember they only had enough shows for up to Wednesday. I distinctly remember a comedy set in a women's prison, though I don't recall the name.
RE: RTN Yes! They had that new horror show--took me completely by surprise too! The lineup according to the channel guide was Baa Baa Black Sheep at 10pm followed by Offbeat Cinema at 11. There were alot of people in costume for this show out of Pennsylvania; I think Penny Dreadful was one of them.

Two things: 1 - I really don't recall much about the FOX Series, other than "The Rifleman" Chuck Connors was involved (that's all I'll say). It premiered as a two-hour TV-Movie, followed by 26 half-hour episodes (as CDF Fan has shown). I also remember it was one of the network's first big ratings splash. 2 - .. and this is WAY out there. Anyone remember The Five Man Electrical Band ... probably best known for the original version of the song "Signs". Well, one Saturday night my mom came home from shopping and handed me a brand-new 45-record from the band, a single called ... "Werewolf". It was sort of a story-song, and at the age of 7 or 8, I played it about 50 times thinking it was the coolest freakin' thing ever. HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP ... Before submitting this, I ... well ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcwHQfIuCnUThe Internet RULES This is now on my iPod for the rest of my life.

Last night, RTN showed the same Midnight Monster Hop from last week. Hopefully they will get it all sorted out by next weekend because I don't think I could stomach a third helping of The Monster Maker

Why can't RTN show Penny Dreadful or SFS locally in Boston? I'd have a rotating show of all three if it was my station. Yes, I know RTN is based outside of MA, but I can still hope.

I'd have to agree with you, CDF Fan. Too many lame jokes and too many tellers. I swear in the first 40 minutes of the show, we only saw about 10 minutes of the movie and the rest was devoted to joke telling, poems, stories, and a magic act (?). It seems the movie was an afterthought and not the main focus.
