The project is being produced by Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer IMDB: STRETCH ARMSTRONG (2011) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1379164/All I can say at this point is....

WOW! Look what years of stretching did to poor Stretch Monster! He looks like the out-of-shape "before" picture in those exercise ads, and his box art is the "after".

Good Lord is anything safe these days? Now Hollywood's going after the toys of our youth for inspiration? Can't wait for the new Star Wars Action Figure movie (yes I know there are dozens of those up on youtube)

How about a movie for the most useless toy created: The Slinky!
Really, aside from pushing it down the stairs, what else could you do with it? Yes, it was neat to shift it from hand to hand--but after 5 minutes of that, the novelty ran out.

Yeah! Or then again, if they feel that the "source material" was too weak to make a movie out of it (and judging from some of the remakes/TV show movies they've made recently, that's NOT likely) they could always combine them into "Pet Rock vs. Chia Pet"! Could be a new wave of kaiju-style movies based on giant versions of old toys. Heck, I'm sure someone wants to cash in on the success of the Transformers movies...

Mark Once you get that first kink in the Slinky coil, it's all over. Might as well throw it away

Mark Once you get that first kink in the Slinky coil, it's all over. Might as well throw it away Oh ya, once the slinky got kinked it was all done. I'm guessing the engineers at the slinky factory knew that and it was incorporated into the business plan. I remember when the first plastic slinky hit the market. What a piece of junk. The best parody of all time (followed closely by Happy Fun Ball) had to be when John Kricfalusi created the The Log from Blammo skit on Ren & Stimpy.
