 Showa Era Gamera on Bluray
Mill Creek is releasing all of the 60's and 70's Gamera films on bluray in April.

Re: Showa Era Gamera on Bluray
My favorite will always be GAMERA VS. VIRAS ("Destroy All Planets") followed by GAMERA VS. JIGER ("Gamera vs. Monster X"). I'm sure it's pure coincidence, but doesn't both movies feature 2 boys (one Japanese in the lead, the other American as a follower) using a midget submarine?

Anyone else as a kid wonder where Gamera's arms and legs go when he went to "after-burners"?

Mill Creek also released Godzilla vs Biollante on bluray last year using the same HD source from Toho. Hopefully they did the same from the sources at Daiei/Kodakawa.

Re: Showa Era Gamera on Bluray
This stuff looks pretty cool! I never got any of the last round of DVD releases of Gamera flicks (were those the Shout Factory ones?). Always looked at them, but never took the plunge. While I have most of the classic Gamera films on some various old DVD sets it might be worth picking these up to have them all handy (especially if it's superior video quality). I'm more of a fan of the old Gamera flicks (thanks to my age and CDF of course), but I'll have to decide if I just want the two sets that contain those movies or if I want to get the big set, just to be complete. I STILL don't do Blu-ray, but eventually I'll have to take that plunge too. Wonder if there are any special features on these? Doesn't look like it, huh?

Oh, and I DO have the Shout Factory MST3K Gamera set! Picked it up on the cheap from Amazon during one of their big MST3K sales last year. Glad I go that one!
