Somerville Theatre Double Knotts Feature This Saturday 7/26
Not sure if anyone's aware of this, but the amazing Somerville Theatre is running an Affordable Family Film Series this month,
and this Saturday afternoon they'll have a 35mm double feature of THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN and THE INCREDIBLE MR.
LIMPET, two staples of weekend afternoons on Boston TV. And get this -- ticket price is $3 !! I'm pretty sure I'm going...had a great
time with an Elvis double feature there earlier this year...they do a great presentation there, and the theater is gorgeous.

Can't wait!

Pretty awesome. An introduction by Tom Evans, Dale Dorman or even Dana Hersey would be the icing on the cake.

Ian (the theater's manager) and I were joking about how cool it was that he was running these films at approximately the same day and time we grew up watching them on Boston TV.

It was a great afternoon. Prints for both films were amazing. CHICKEN was an early-2000s print that had seen little action, while LIMPET was an original IB Technicolor print from 1964, so both
looked EXACTLY like they would have the week they opened back in the early 60s, on the Somerville's HUGE screen. A good-sized crowd turned out for these, and it was great to hear a theater
full of people, from little kids to oldsters, laughing uproariously at Don Knotts' antics.

I'm sorry I missed that double feature. I should check back here more often. I'd love to see The Reluctant Astronaut on a screen someday too.
