So I caught the Superman reboot yesterday and to my surprise it was great. He's not as dark and brooding as the previews lead you to believe and the action, acting, character development and art design were all pretty well done IMHO.
I was just recently complaining to a buddy about how the summer blockbusters were weak compared to last year but with this, Pacific Rim and The Lone Ranger (which I want to catch at the drive in) give me some hope.

Re: SUPERMAN REBOOT, IRON-MAN II, & AAAHNOLD
I went with my wife and parents to see MAN OF STEEL yesterday (actually a pretty perfect Father's Day choice, thematically), and we all thought it was good/OK. I was put off by the shaky camerawork, dull color palate, and moments of so much going on I couldn't follow the action, but overall it was much better than I expected. I'm fine with the revisions to the lore, as I'll always have the past 70 years of serials, cartoons, TV series, and features to fall back on. I'm hoping that now that the origin is out of the way, we can have some somewhat original adventures in the future, though I can't imagine the next film won't feature Lex Luthor as the baddie. My father, who's been a Superman fan all his life, and has seen each incarnation new in the theater (he remembers the serials from when he was a kid, and indeed we watched the first two chapters when we got home from the theater yesterday), was impressed, as was my mother, so it was a successful grown-up family matinee.
