That Letterman clip was pretty funny! It took me a while to get to this thread, and I have to admit that my all time favorite TV series is vintage Galactica. I really like the new series and thank goodness for It. I always thought that Gary Larson deserved way more credit for his idea. It just took a few decades to get there. But getting back to the old series, besides Star Wars, I could not concentrate on anything else during the week at the age of 7. I remember grabbing a few snacks and getting my pillow and blanket together. Plopping on the couch for my weekly dose of space perfection. ( thanks to my mom for supporting my SIFI, HORROR fetish) Didn't need CGI to get this kid hooked. You know, now that I think of It, I really believe It all started with the slow moving close up of the battleship model splice together that Larson and Lucas created. It absolutely captivated me, I mean the close up on the Tantiue IV witch races over Tatooine, racing to escape from the clutches of the Imperial star destroyer. Or when the Battlestar called Galactica, rounds up there Rag Tag fleet of vessels on a journy for freedom. Good stuff fit for a kid. Thank god I was born In the seventies! :D
