Kolchak: The Night Stalker is far and away the best horror series ever made for TV.

While I agree with that statement CDF Fan, why do you think it did so poorly in the ratings? Time slot? Competition?
And its remake did even worse. Even though I didn't care for all the changes, I didn't think it was half bad.

In regards to why Kolchak failed, I have a few ideas, but I'm going to ask a co-worker who has written a Kolchak book and also writes a comic book series for Moonstone Comics ... I get back with any info when I talk to him.

I'll be watching Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein & Son of Frankenstein while working in my home office today. It is cold and gloomy and just the right mood for that triple feature.

Re: Uncle Poe's October TV Schedule
Hey CDF Fan

Similar day here on the North Coast --- early morning the sky was 1/3 perfect blue and the rest gray/black clouds, with a chill in the air to counter the periods of sunshine --- perfect October day.

Last year, I did movie marathons every day. October 30 (2007) was Frankenstein Day: Frankenstein - Bride of - Son of - Ghost of. By the way, I think Ghost of Frankenstein is one of the truly underrated horror films of all-time. Even though its for only a minute or so, having Igor's brain in the Creature's body was awesome. I've never thought Lugosi gets enough praised for his portrayal of Igor in Son of and Ghost of.

This year, with Halloween on Friday, I had to schedule one of the Silver Screen's greatest double features of all-time: Dracula ('31) and Frankenstein ('31). Given that, I made October 22 my day to watch the other classics.
