I ordered my costume for this years and it turned out to be a disaster. It is now too late to send it back for an exchange because the company is in Singapore. I bought it on eBay

This is what it is supposed to look like.

This is what I ordered

THIS IS WHAT I RECEIVED-A PIECE OF CR@P

I was however able to find this jacket.

Oh man how terrible, but not surprising. How many ads do we see a day where the picture looks way better than what the product really looks like? I think every fast food chain is guilty of this.
Since you bought this on eBay, I'm guessing you payed through PayPal. If so, you can file a SNAD (Sigificantly Not As Described) with eBay/PayPal and get your money back.
That last jacket you found is much better, though it's missing the turtleneck. Have you thought about getting a Next Generation jacket? You'd make a nifty William Riker!

Don't worry, it could be worse. Think of the guys who got the same results with a mail-order bride.

Very unfortunate Daimajinbob. And you had such luck with the Obi-Wan suit. This might be a good story to add to the eBay Horror Stories thread. It's amazing how some people have no problem putting up a photo of something that is clearly NOT the item that they are selling. I'd like to know what this sellers feedback looks like. Have others reported their deceptive bait-and-switch tactics?

On the other hand, that other jacket you have looks very nice. I've always thought it would be cool to get a ST movie uniform for Halloween, but it always seemed like it would be too much work (and money) to put one together. I hope you can make it work and have another successful Halloween costume (and I hope you get your money back from that first jacket).

I am completely SOL this Halloween. My Fiance called me and told me the girls are sick and I am running the flu right now. No Halloween this year.

That sucks. I hope everyone's feeling better. Nothing worse than for a kid (or a kid at heart for that matter) to miss Halloween. Very unfortunate for the girls, as I was just thinking about how this year's Halloween fell on a Friday. To me that's the absolute BEST day for it to fall on when your a kid (you get home from school and get all ready, go out trick-or-treating, and then you STILL have the rest of the weekend ahead of you!).

I suppose, if nothing else, at least this gives you a whole year to perfect your Star Trek costume.
