Hi all. I've been thinking about this (possibly horrible) film from when I was a kid. Would very much like to see it again. It's an old sci-fi/horror/creature flick. I remember only that something would happen to people, after which they were no longer themselves, but controlled by something. Also, there would be some small thing attached to their spine-area at the base of their neck. I think maybe the attached thing might have looked like it had very small wing-like appendages.

This is basically all I remember, aside from there being some kind of cave or something in the story, perhaps where the "main" creature was located, perhaps temporarily.

I know the title is NOT "It Came From Outer Space". A different film.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP!!!!

The Brain Eaters. I have it on DVD. Check eBay. you can usually find a copy there. Either that or Zontar, or it conquered the world. In Brain Eaters, some cone like thing came up out of the ground and there were these things in it that looked a bit like Tribbles from STTOS. The plot was similar to Bodysnatchers.

Sure sounds like "It Conquered the World" to me. That would be my first guess, though the others are definite possibilities.

check it out at Youtube to see if it's the right one.
"It Conquered the World" part 1 of 7:

Here's the trailer, in case you don't have the time to watch the whole thing:

MST3K did "It Conquered the World" too. I picked t up from Cheepins recently.

If I remember correctly both It Conquered the World and Zontar are basically the same movie just filmed in different decades. Peter Graves versus John Agar. B&W versus Color.

Yep. And it's a toss up as to which one was cheesier. One looked like the creature was an upside down carrot and they killed it with a kerosene blowtorch (hows that for high tech?) And the other (Zontar) looked like a guy wrapped in plastic bags with extra eyes and a cheesy set of wings glued on. The scientist killed this one with a ray gun that looked like a pipe wrapped in wire with a radio antenna sticking out of it.

Both cheesy, both CDF classics.

I consider "Zontar" to be slightly worse--if only because it's a made-for-TV re-make of an already cheesy and cheap Roger Corman classic.
