 Welcome to the board
For those of you who grew up in New England in the 1970's-early 80's, you must certainly remember Creature Double Feature on WLVI-56 Boston. I moved to Texas when I was 12 years old and was pretty upset over the fact that there wasn't anything close to Creature Double Feature. All we had was The Channel 13 Million Dollar Movie which only showed a monster movie once a month. Since I now live in Houston, I am unable to watch the the current incarnation of the show but hope to soon.

I am the admin Daimajinbob (formerly Mechakong from a previous board that once existed) This site is a work in progress and I am currently trying to update it to allow avatars, vid embedding etc., so please be patient. I am new at this.

Cool board DaimajinBob! I didn't think you could get a forum like this for free. Glad to be aboard.
Also about Bill's list of CDF movies above, the numbers in the brackets indicate how many times the film was shown for those who are wondering.

Thanks. The demands on my time are formidable so I will be staying up late taking care of this thing. This is my first forum hosting gig.

Hi all!

I was a lurker on the previous board and decided to join this time!

I grew up watching CDF in its heyday (being 10 years old in 1975). Back then, I favored the giant monster movies over the man-sized monster movies. You could say at that age, Godzilla reigned supreme for me. Was it like that for most of you, too? I remember being disappointed when looking in the new TV Guide and seeing no Kaiju movie listed for that week's CDF.
Thirty years later, I still have a soft spot for those types of movies (heck, War of the Gargantuas is still one of my favorites!), but I have since grown to appreciate the classic Universal monsters I used to be bored with as a kid-- I think Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein was the only Universal monster movie I liked.
I've got quite a few of those classic movies in my collection now--right next to my Kaiju collection! :D

Kind Regards to All
Dave

I was exactly the same as a kid Dave! Usually if there were no giant monsters or dinosaurs in the movie I would go out to play instead.
Now I wish I had paid more attention to the non-kaiju movies I have on DVD now.

I always enjoyed the Daimajin films when they were shown. I had no idea there was a third one until a few years ago.

Same here!
It wasn't until about 6 years ago, when I went to an online store to order the two Majin movies (on vhs no less) I knew of-- that I saw there was a third. Needless to say I had to get that one as well! :D

I'll probably get those too...eventually. Tell me, are the films letterboxed and subtitled?

Congratulations on putting up a new board Daimajinbob! It's nice to see (read) a few familiar faces here already. I was known as Glen on the former CDF message board. I'll let my friends who were on the old board know about this one. :D

I loved Creature Double Feature as a kid. However, I didn't really realize how big of an impact it had on my life until I discovered the old CDF website (and the board) last year. Suddenly tons of great memories came flooding back. I realized that I still loved those CDF-type movies and became determined to expand my movie collection to include a bunch of CDF titles that I was particularly fond of.
By the way, thanks also for putting the list of movies up again. I made a copy for myself in Excel when I saw it on the original CDF site and I use it in my search for CDF movies. It has been a valuable resource. I'm sure everyone who remembers CDF and sees the list for the first time would agree. I think that someone from the original site was planning on putting the air dates for the movies up too (a daunting project). I work at a library and have been contemplating doing the same thing myself, but don't know whan I'll get around to it.

I'd also have to agree with Beastball. My favorite CDFs were always the ones with giant monsters (Japanese or otherwise). There were certainly some others that I liked, but the monsters were the best to me. Like Beastball, I have also re-discovered the classic Universal monsters, and now have a much greater appreciation for them. Similarly, I wasn't really into most of the Hammer (and Hammer-type, gothic-y) movies on CDF, but now I'm more into those as well. I don't feel a need to own EVERY movie on the CDF list, but I would like to try to at least see all of them.

 Greetings!
Hello!

Nice to see a new CDF board up! I was a member on the old board, (that I believe Glenn had been running). Just wanted to say hello. Also I sent an email to WLVI CW to say it was good to have CDF back on this weekend, even if it was a repeat... I told them that there are a lot of fans that would be happy to see this and that we hope that it would be an ongoing show. Also, said that it would slowly but surely get the attention it deserves.

later!

Dr. Who
