This is a movie mentioned often at this forum, and OLDIES.COM has a deal on the VHS version of it --- $1.98 (plus shipping). This website sells lots of horror DVDs (check out the Horror genre in the Movies/TV drop-down menu).

Here is the actual link to the deal:

Nice! Thanks Uncle POE. True, it's not DVD, but for something as rare as this VHS is fine. I do have a copy of the movie on DVD (not an "official" one obviously), but it might be nice to have a true copy (even if it has to be VHS for the moment). I like OLDIES.COM. They have quite a few good deals on movies that you can't find easily at other places--like all the Midnite Movies DVDs that they have recently had on sale (and still do I believe). And the prices are hard to beat when they have special sales. Sometimes they even have free shipping too).

There's a whole thread a little further down in this forum about "The Last Dinosaur" which laments how it's not available on a legitimate DVD yet. It sounds like that may change soon though...

There is a legit DVD, recently released in Japan:

Twould be nice if the rights could get worked out for a US release, but at least it's out there somewhere in official form now.

Yeah, you'd have to think that someone would want to cash in on this semi-lost classic. Now that it has been given the special treatment in Japan, who knows? I'm guessing that the Japanese release won't be playable in region one DVD players, but it it were playable (or if someone has a region-free DVD player) it sounds like it might be worth picking up (if it can be found cheaply at some point--and if it can be found at all). It does have the English track, and it's also the longer Japanese version, which I'm not sure whether this version has been released here before or not.
